Young & the Restless & its fans are celebrating 30 Years of Phyllis Summers, mostly portrayed by the infamous Michelle Stafford. Love or hate the character or Phyllis, there is no dispute that Michelle Stafford’s acting is above top-notch.
Somehow during the celebration of 30 Years of Phyllis her nemesis since day one, Christine Blair, was barely mentioned & with zero Cricket flashbacks.

No One in the Park Knew About the Octopus
The Young & the Restless celebration of 30 years of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) opened with Phyllis offering up some bonding time in Chancellor Park with her granddaughter Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) while in the company of her children Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) & Summer Newman (Allison Lanier). Daniel & Summer thought they had heard it all & were nervous for Lucy. Then Y&R fans learned Lucy is 16 years old now & is ready for anything. Phyllis goes ahead & opens with when she placed a stinky octopus in Paul & Christine Williams’ (Doug Davidson & Lauralee Bell) bed after they just gotten married & were on their honeymoon.
Lucy learns later during storytime that Christine influenced Phyllis not being able to raise her father Daniel. Summer & Daniel didn’t know about the octopus either but they knew plenty about their mother’s other overtures before & after they were born. However, seeing Lucy smile & have interest in something else besides her mother’s sudden death was enough for this impromptu party in the park.
Cricket Can’t Stop Red, Phyllis Meets & (Sort of) Raises Her Son
Better late than never, Phyllis finally was reunited with her son Daniel. One day Christine Blair will have to learn the hard way that Phyllis Summers does not stop & she will not go away. Cricket can be with Danny or Paul &/or continue to flip-flop between them yet Phyllis Summers will not go away.

Phyllis in disguise via actual costumes has gotten her through several tricky situations in her life. Cricket doesn’t use disguises, or does she? Sometimes Christine Blair is the District Attorney. There are other items she’s doing pro-bono work. There’s been at least one time when she has teamed up to run a practice with Michel Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) who one time raped her. In what attorney capacity will Phyllis’ least favorite bug return to Genoa City on Young & the Restless next?
30 Years of Phyllis Summers & Her 3 Great Loves on Y&R
Obviously, Phyllis’ #1 greatest love is dreamy Danny Romalotti. She & Cricket have been fighting over him for years & it’s not about to stop. In light of Heather Stevens’ sudden death & what is going on with Daniel, Danny & The Bug will be back in Genoa City shortly & Danny & Phyllis will be forced to spend time together & Cricket will go nuts.
Might Danny & Phyllis reconnecting romantically be the silver lining in what is happening with the Romalotti family right now?

…& Then There is Nick Newman & Smilin’ Jack Abbott…
Speaking of flip-flopping, Phyllis Summers has flip-flopped between Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) & Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) over her years in Genoa City on Y&R. In fact, for a period of time, her daughter Summer Newman’s (Allison Lanier) paternity was up for grabs.
It was settled that Summer’s father is Nick Newman & in true soap opera irony, Jack Abbott delivered her.
It was cute when Phyllis #1 friend over the years reassured her that whether Summer ended up being Nick Newman’s child or Jack Abbott’s child, she would end up with impeccable DNA. Fun fact… Jack Abbott has been Nick Newman’s stepdad… SO soapy…
