Top of the Ticker: Monday marked the one year anniversary of Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack against Israel. The broadcast, cable and streaming news outlets marked the occasion by reporting from the region as the tentacles of the war continue to spread throughout the Middle East. Last week, NBC News Now premiered the documentary, Freed: One Year Later, featuring interviews with four freed hostages, Agam Goldstein-Almog, Ilana Gritzewsky, Aviva Siegel and Moran Stela Yanai. The documentary is currently available to stream on NBCNews.com and Peacock.

Some Good News: NewsNation’s Nichole Berlie announced on-air on Oct. 4 that she is cancer-free. “One year ago today… I was one of those women under the age of 50 diagnosed,” Berlie said, as Breast Cancer Awareness Month begins. “Every cancer journey is unique, and mine started with no symptoms. So please hear this: My mammogram was fine. I was given the all clear and it’s because there was no cancer.”

Moving On: CBS News 24/7 anchor Anne Marie Green anchored her final broadcast for the streaming service on Friday. Green will now be part of the 48 Hours family as a full-time correspondent. Towards the end of her shift, she was gifted a bouquet of flowers by her replacement, Errol Barnett. “I know the show is in good hands,” Green told Barnett, who took over the chair on Monday. Barnett has been with CBS News since 2016 and previously covered the White House out of Washington, D.C.

Awards Watch: Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum was honored by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society during the Patriot Awards Gala on Oct. 3, receiving the John R. “Tex” McCray Award for Excellence in Journalism. MacCallum’s Fox News colleague Jessica Tarlov also picked up a high-profile honor, joining Variety’s New Power of New York list on Sunday night.
