I think I need to iron my shirts.

I almost crashed my first one-person business.

I was only 12 months into my journey. I didn’t manage my cashflow properly. Clients ghosted me. I had a huge tax bill come in.

I felt like an absolute failure.

I went to bed crying with anxiety most days. But six months later, I recovered the business back to $20k per month and sold to a bigger consultancy.

Here are the brutal lessons I’ve learned from this journey.

You are the problem.

I’m about to cross $22k (AUD) per month in biz.

But I went to bed with anxiety for a week.

This should have been a happy moment.

My business revenue goal for Q1 of 2025 was $22k+ per month.

I achieved it 4 months earlier.

Immediately, I had thoughts of:

  • “You don’t deserve this.”
  • “What if all this goes away?”

I was crippled with imposter syndrome.

Fear was strangling me while I tried to sleep.
