Part of our ‘Not Buying Anything-2025’
Before we get to our list of what we won’t be buying in 2025, let’s take a moment to talk about why, and how, we got to this. Simply put, we are done with the cycle of consumerism.
We are exhausted from it.
The fatigue of buying things that simply don’t last (talking to you LG refrigerator purchased for $2700 and lasted just 9 years) to the exhaustion of shrinkflation at the grocery store to watching that new linen shirt unravel at the seams after its first wash, we’re done. It’s a never-ending cycle of buying crap and then tossing it out because it’s well, it’s crap and then buying a replacement for what we threw away. All these purchases then fill our oceans and landfills as we pollute the world with over-purchasing.
We want to extract ourselves from this cycle, slow down, enjoy our lives, free ourselves from the clutter and pressure to buy, buy, buy.
And from our previous post where we go into more detail on this (we highly encourage you to read this), not buying anything sends a very loud message, especially if we all band together and make the same changes.
Your wallet is one of your strongest assets.
