So far, TLC hasn’t arranged a crossover between 1000-Lb Sisters and 1000-Lb Best Friends. But that hasn’t stopped Vannessa Cross and Tammy Slaton from forging a strong friendship.
Fans have seen the women interact on social media, but their bond actually extends beyond that. Read on to see what Vannessa had to say about her fellow TLC star in a new interview.
Vannessa Cross & Tammy Slaton Have Quite A Lot In Common
On this season of 1000-Lb Best Friends, Vannessa Cross is struggling with her friendships. Meghan Crumpler and Ashely Sutton don’t want anything to do with her, so she’s bonding with the new cast members.
But no matter what happens on her own show, Vannessa knows she will always have a friend in Tammy Slaton.
“Me and Tammy have each other’s personal numbers, so we message every now and then,” Vannessa told Access Hollywood, revealing that Tammy also sent her a generous gift. “And believe it or not, I have a kitten that Tammy Slaton sent down to me. So I have one of her cats. We are really good friends.”
Vannessa and Tammy haven’t met face-to-face yet, but they’re hoping that will change in the future. Plenty of fans would tune in to see a crossover of the two shows.
“We started reaching out a little over a year and a half ago before she ever even started really losing weight,” Vannessa continued. She went on to say that she occasionally sends positive messages to Tammy telling her how sincerely proud she is and how amazing Tammy looks.
On this season of 1000-Lb Sisters, Tammy is emotionally struggling after being denied skin removal surgery. Vannessa admitted it broke her heart to see her friend in so much pain, so she sent her some words of encouragement.
The 1000-Lb Best Friends Star Wants Tammy To Keep Pushing Herself
Vannessa Cross was turned away by two plastic surgeons before being approved for skin removal. She knows how painful denials are. More than anything, she wants her friend to keep pushing forward. Tammy Slaton has accomplished too much to give up now.
“I would love to be there for her more. She’s doing really good,” the TLC star told Access Hollywood. “I’m so proud of her and Amy too. I think they’re doing amazing with their weight loss. Really, all of them are doing good, but honey, Tammy is blowing it out of the water. And I don’t want her to get discouraged just because that plastic surgeon said she needed to wait a certain amount of time.”
