Although Grove offers a subscription service I decided to try them out beforehand and ordered the multi purpose cleaner from Amazon before I went the subscription route. I paid $25.35 for a 16 ounce glass bottle plus two refills.
On the Grove website, the same kit costs $22.98. Is this the most cost effective way to be sustainable? Upfront costs are a bit pricey, but it gets shipped to my home saving me a trip in my car (not electric, sorry) and there is zero plastic to worry about. And once you have the essentials, all you have to do is order the refills thereby reducing carbon.
However, Grove’s subscription service requires you to pay attention. Basically, you agree to two types of subscriptions, one for products and one for membership. While I am not opposed to this (I did order more from them directly), it’s just another thing I have to pay attention to and cancel if necessary. Keep it in mind because what you order, initially, will become your subscription. Cancellation, according to Grove, is easy.
