Jeremy Strong has wrapped up his journey as Kendall Roy and is ready for new adventures.
The Succession star recently shared that he doesn’t long for the character he brought to life on the HBO drama for four seasons.
“It f*** me up,” Strong told The Sunday Times about playing Kendall.
Strong acknowledges that Succession “was an incalculable gift” and added, “The material a banquet. So I miss that. But Kendall’s struggle was difficult to carry for seven years. And there’s just so much more I want to do.”
While Strong won an Emmy in 2020 for his role, don’t expect him to revisit Kendall in a spinoff series.
A New Chapter Begins
“It’s not something I have any wish to do any longer. I’m aware it is one of the main chapters of my life, but I don’t miss it,” he shared.
Succession, created by Jesse Armstrong, revolved around the Roy family’s battle for control of their global media empire. The show featured a stellar cast including Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, and Sarah Snook.
Though Strong has bid farewell to Succession, he’s not done with the name Roy just yet. He’s set to portray Roy Cohn in The Apprentice, a biopic directed by Ali Abbasi about Donald Trump’s early real estate career in New York City. Cohn, a lawyer, played a significant role in mentoring Trump during his business beginnings.
As Strong moves forward, fans can look forward to seeing him tackle new, exciting roles that showcase his incredible talent.
