Pricing for the 2025 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid mid-size sedan costs $32,150—just $235 more than the 2024 model.

The base price, includes a mandatory $1,150 destination charge, applies to the base SEL grade. As with the 2024 model year, a Limited grade is also available. For 2025, it’s priced at $38,600 with destination.

The current-generation Hyundai Sonata Hybrid was introduced for the 2020 model year. It received a refresh for 2024, with a new super-aero look, dual 12.3-inch displays in a panoramic curved housing, and enhanced regenerative braking. But while non-hybrid models see the reintroduction of the base SE grade and a newly-separate SEL Convenience grade for 2025, those changes don’t apply to the Sonata Hybrid.

Hybrids are still powered by a 2.0-liter inline-4 gasoline engine and 6-speed automatic transmission with an integrated electric motor, with the latter powered by a 1.62-kwh battery pack. Total system output is 192 hp. While Hyundai began offering all-wheel drive on some non-hybrid Sonata models for 2024, the Sonata Hybrid remains front-wheel drive only.

EPA fuel-economy ratings are unchanged from the 2024 model year. That means 47 mpg combined, with city and highway ratings of 44 mpg and 51 mpg, respectively. Pre-refresh, the Sonata Hybrid achieved a stellar 52 mpg combined in the Blue guise that’s no longer offered.

Primary rivals include the Honda Accord Hybrid, which achieves up to 48 mpg combined in EX-L guise, and the Toyota Camry, which goes hybrid-only as part of an extensive update for the 2025 model year. The Camry boasts a best fuel-efficient rating of 51 mpg combined in front-wheel drive LE trim. Unlike the Sonata and Accord, its hybrid powertrain can also be had with all-wheel drive, albeit with a small efficiency penalty.
