In the world of automobiles, there are different manufacturers with a well-differentiated product range. There are options to suit all budgets – some are mainstream and coexist with other more luxurious and exclusive products, logically, with higher prices. In the motorhome and camper van segment, something very similar happens.
We are taking a look at one of the manufacturers in this premium category. We have already shown you more than one of their recreational models. But this time, we will focus on its Globetrail Performance 2025 model. A camper on a Volkswagen mechanical base, with a high level of interior finish, meeting the needs of the most demanding customers.

Dethleffs
As you can see in the images, the Globetrail is a large camper, almost a motorhome, at 5.98 metres long, with an interior capacity for three adults in its standard configuration. In addition, the front captain’s (swivel) seats together with the rear bench seat form a practical lounge dinette with a folding table. So far, nothing new in the layout, as you can see.
Moving further inside towards the rear, on the driver’s side, just behind the dinette, is the bathroom with cassette toilet, washbasin and integrated shower. On the opposite side is the kitchen area, with an integrated fridge, two-burner cooker, and sink, all in one module.
And then we come to the rear, where we find a large family bed, 2.00 x 1.40 metres, which is unusual for a camper van of this size. The most striking thing is that Dethleffs has equipped the bed base with a folding system that, when not needed, can be retracted to the side, to gain more interior space, for example, during the day. In addition, with an internal height of almost 2 metres (2.67 metres high on the outside), interior life inside the Glotrail is very comfortable.
As mentioned above, the mechanicals are based on a Volkswagen Crafter chassis cab, coupled with a 2.0-litre TDI turbo diesel engine with 163 bhp and an automatic transmission. Among the exclusive details of this model are, for example, OZ Racing-designed 18-inch wheels, hands-free locking, a navigation and infotainment system with a 10-inch screen, and practical drawers for accessories and small parts located under the main bed.
The homely look and feel that Dethleffs wanted to achieve with the Globetrail is due in large part to the available felt-like upholstery or the range of Amberes Oak wood furniture or the dimmable LED-based interior lighting.
And since we are talking about a premium product, in this case, a camper van for discerning customers, the starting price is also special. Specifically, it starts at £72,170 (price converted from the Spanish market), a price that can be increased considerably if you decide to include several of the options available from the manufacturer.
